Anthony Arnold (Tubby):
Peacefully, at Lister Home, Waimate, on Friday, June 16, 2023. Dearly loved son of the late Arnold (Arnie) and Noeline. Loved brother of Greg, Les, Jenny (dec), and Pat (dec). Adored uncle of Sonja, Barry, Alan, Carla, Nigel, Dylan, Harley, and Kitty. Special thanks for the staff at Lister Home, Waimate. A service celebrating Tubby's life will be held at Waimate A&P Showgrounds Pavillion, 26 Hakataramea Highway, Waimate, on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 1.30pm. A delayed stream of the service will be available, please email- [email protected] or call 6862148. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lister Home would be gratefully accepted and may be left at the service. Messages to: the O'Neill family, C/- PO Box 4091, Highfield, Timaru 7942.

I can remember the day many years ago I teamed up with Tubby in the Hoteliers golf tournament at Levels. He was on a 14 handicap. He told me he would sort the haggle. He said he went small. 50,50,50 which I though was 50 cents. Tubby had a blinder and we were 7 up after 9 holes. Tubby mentioned doubling up but the other pair refused saying to the shock of me they were $350 down already. I think we finished 9up. Rest is peace big fella.
