Tony and I shared a tragic piece of history together. He and I had organised some get together at the GRFC club rooms. As I parked, Tony arrived also, jumped outta his car with such a distressed look on his face. All he said was She's dead. I'm like who is? Princess Diana dead. It took him awhile to convince me. We had tears and hugs right there in the car park. Needless to say, the do inside was a complete flop. Everyone just sat there like stunned ducks. Tony and I often talked about that day, it never left either of us.
We also talked a lot about Mustang cars. For years he told me that one day he'd own one. That day came in the form of his stunning yellow beauty. Gosh he loved his baby and was gutted when he let it go, as I know you were too Aaron.
Tony and I had a lovely friendship which stretched over many decades. Will miss his humour.
