Alan LOWE Obituary

Born in 1936 on Union Street, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England, passed away in his 88th year on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Timaru Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. Alan is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Margaret Ann (née Cooper) and in January this year they celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage. Loved father of Timothy Mark Lowe, Trudi Ann Lowe-Gibbon, Jeremy Scott Lowe, and Lesley Sarah Ennis. Proud grandfather to Hannah Louise Lowe, James William Lowe, Charnesha Margaret Ennis, Alexandra Kate Gibbon, Tomas Alan Lowe, Meg Elizabeth Gibbon, Claudia Elizabeth Ennis, Samuel William Joseph Gibbon, Jaxon Robert Alan Ennis and Santana Kaahu Ennis and his great-grandchildren Meadow Lane McIntosh, Neeko Tama Handley, Leni May McIntosh, Haaro Tiaki Handley, Xavier David Gibbon and Angus Peter Lowe. Beloved son of Sydney Frank and Phyllis Mabel (née Woodcock). Alan was a cherished brother to Audrey Rhodes, Aileen May Winfield, Colin Lowe, and Kathleen Mabel Manning. Alan was known and loved for his dry, witty humour, his amazing vegetable garden and an ardent supporter of Port Vale F.C. Margaret and Alan loved to travel, tramp and walk together and at the age of 78, with Margaret, they walked the El Camino de Santiago which is an impressive 883 kilometres. In keeping with Alan's wishes a private cremation has been held.
